Comic collector. Artist. Paper Blade obsessive.
FROM COMICS TO PAPER BLADE ART
I'm Rick Sharif, a lifelong comic collector and the artist behind Paper Blade Art.
I started creating Paper Blade Art in 2013, combining my love of comics and pop culture with a very simple idea: take something I love and rebuild it, layer by layer, by hand.
What started as a creative experiment grew into a career, with my artwork finding its way into the hands of collectors and fans around the world.
OVER A DECADE OF CUTTING PAPER
For more than a decade, I've been turning comic book imagery, characters and covers into physical works of art.
Along the way, I've had the opportunity to work with major names in the comic and entertainment world, including DC and Warner Bros., and to exhibit my work at conventions and events internationally. I'm also a CGC Signature Series Artist, bringing together my two worlds: comic collecting and creating art.
OVER A DECADE OF CUTTING PAPER
Much of my journey has happened on the other side of a convention table.
From meeting collectors and fellow artists to spending long weekends talking comics with complete strangers, conventions have become a huge part of my creative life.
That's where I get to see the reaction when someone picks up a piece, looks closer and realises that what they're holding is made entirely from layers of paper.
