We start with the image, character or cover that will become the artwork.
DESIGN
The artwork is broken down into layers, shapes and details.
CUT
Each layer is carefully hand-cut using a precision blade.
ASSEMBLE
The individual layers are built up to create depth and dimension.
FINISHED ART
The completed piece becomes a physical, one-of-one artwork.

THE ARTIST
I'm Rick Sharif, a Paper Blade Artist and lifelong comic collector.
I've been creating Paper Blade Art since 2013, turning comic book and pop culture imagery into hand-cut, layered artwork.
Over the years, the work has taken me from comic conventions and collectors to collaborations and professional work connected with the worlds of DC and Warner Bros.
Today, I continue creating original artwork and commissions for collectors and fans around the world.
